BOTLF is Mrs. Carpenter's new acronym to say BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR. We are using this acronym because Greer students have a lot to look forward to as we melt our way into Spring. (hopefully!) Please read below for several events to BOTLF...
Please read the guidelines below for more information:
- All Greer students will participate in Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart activities during their P.E. class in the month of March. BOTLF a packet coming home with students explaining Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart fundraising opportunities. Fundraising is completely optional. All funds raised will benefit the American Heart Association.
- Also during the month of March, the Specials team will be hosting a ‘Specials Night’ to celebrate art, music, physical education, and library. This night will coincide with the Book Fair on Thursday, March 3rd. Please attend with your family members and stop by the gym to play some fun P.E. games and activities together.
- Another March opportunity quickly approaching is an after school event Greer PE will be hosting for students in the upper grades. One afternoon in March students from all over Albemarle County will come to Greer for a large group dance meeting and dance battle. BOTLF a letter and permission form coming home with upper grade students letting you know the details for this exciting opportunity to meet and dance alongside students from other schools.
- This year fourth and fifth grade students analyzed their personal fitness report data and created individualized fitness goals outlining an area in which they would like to improve. To help our students achieve their goals we have created a home fitness program. The home fitness program calendar was sent home with 4th and 5th grade students earlier this month.
Please read the guidelines below for more information:
- Each participant will be given a calendar monthly outlining physical activities targeted toward improving physical fitness. To take part in the program, the student will participate in the daily activity listed on their calendar and have an adult initial each date completed.
- Students can return their monthly record sheet at the end of the month to earn a foot charm for each week of participation (5 consecutive days plus a 6th day choice activity).
- Students can pick up a new monthly record sheet each month from their PE teacher.
- Accepted activities are logged outside of regular school hours per every 30 minutes of exercise.
