The first quarter is complete! During the first quarter, students practiced a variety of PE skills including soccer dribbling and kicking, throwing and catching, defending, invading, balancing, and dodging/fleeing. Crowd favorites include fun tag games introduced by Mr. Painter and a game using student feet as catapults to project Mrs. Carpenter's old beanie baby toys for a partner to catch.
The weather is finally beginning to feel like Fall! Through November, classes will continue to rotate through our separate learning spaces: the gym, the field, and the blacktop. Classes who are scheduled to be outside for PE can bring and wear coats/jackets/hats to participate comfortably. Often, students warm-up through movement and accidentally leave items like jackets in PE. Writing your child's name on the clothing tag can help you, teachers, and students identify to whom the items belong. You can find the "lost and found" at the top of the purple stairs on the school's main floor. On particularly cold days, PE classes will participate inside the gym together for learning. Additionally, we have entered BOOT weather. Students are welcome to bring a change of safe shoes for PE class to change before participation. Safe PE shoes are flat with no heel, stay on the foot while playing, and have a non-marking rubber sole.
Enjoy the beautiful Fall weather by getting outside and exercising together with your student!
