Finally it feels like Fall weather is approaching!
PE classes have been doing a great job beginning their learning units to kick off the school year. Grades 4-5 are completing their fitness testing in push-ups, curl-ups, PACER, sit and reach, and trunk lift. Later in the year, students will analyze their scores and write personalized fitness goals. Third graders are participating in fitness testing as a means of learning about moderate and vigorous activities and to learn about the expectations in the upcoming years of PE. Grades K-2 continue to practice and use locomotor movements, personal space, and applying these concepts in to learning units like kicking, dribbling, throwing and catching.
While the weather remains warm, classes will continue to rotate through the indoor and outdoor learning spaces including the gym, field, and blacktop. To ensure student safety, please have students wear sneakers every PE day. Students who are not wearing sneakers might not be able to participate in the learning activity.
